 Mr. Burkwitz is one of the three partners at Peterson & Bradford. Mr. Burkwitz' specialty is employment law, and he is the firm's point person when it comes to employment litigation, particularly Title VII, DFEH or common law claims. Mr. Burkwitz' litigation efforts span all phases, including trial experience, having first and second chaired trials.
Mr. Burkwitz graduated from Cal State Northridge with a BA in 1995, in History, before obtaining an MA in History in 1997 from San Diego State University. Mr. Burkwitz then attended law school at Southwestern School of Law in 1998. At Southwestern, Mr. Burkwitz made the Deans' list each of the three years he attended, participated in Law Review for two years, and ultimately graduated in the Top 10% of his class.
Mr. Burkwitz started his legal career at the law offices of Bonne, Bridges, Mueller, O'Keefe & Nichols in 2001. At Bonne Bridges, Mr. Burkwitz began his legal career focusing on litigating medical malpractice and personal injury claims. In 2004, Mr. Burkwitz joined Peterson & Bradford. Since that time, Mr. Burkwitz has focused his skills on litigating employment-related suits, both on behalf of the defense (employer) and on behalf of the plaintiff (employee), working on behalf of public entities and private parties.
Mr. Burkwitz was made partner in January 2009. He is presently married to his wife, Shiri, and has two children, Simcha (born 2004) and Chana (born 2008).
